Waltons-like film. Novel Earl Hamner
–Year in film: 1960s
–Who in bedroom: 5 boys ~6-15. 3 girls
–Kind of beds: single beds + same
–Available on DVD: yes
–I own: no
–Rating: 6/10 ?
–Comment: There are 13 Spencer’s. 9 Kids. My first entry with exactly 5 brothers. 4 sisters including a baby.
I haven’t seen all beds but I even bought the novel (book entry coming next on my overalls blog including 2 more pics of this film). Same plot as The Waltons (rating 8), partly same character names, same author. According to the novel the two oldest boys sleeping in one bed (oldest is Clayboy who represents John-Boy Walton then Matt). The 3 younger boys sleeping together in one other bed (in the same room ?) Three girls in 2 beds. And the baby girl in the parent’s bed.
Very interesting. I like large families and The Waltons. I currently watching again some DVDs of the series. The Waltons (aka “Spencer’s Mountain (1971)” is set in the 1930s and 1940s unlike this movie so different style of rooms, clothes and other props. In there each kid had a bed for his own.
I have to check this movie later. I ony found some few and short clips. Starring Henry Fonda as Dad and Maureen O’Hara.
Rating 6-7 for now.
