Summer with the Ghosts

Family film
Year: 2004
Year in film: 2000s ?
Country: Canada, Austria
Who in bedroom: Jakob ~11 ?
Kind of beds: single
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no, partly TV recording
Rating: 4 /10
Rating: ****
Comment: I think Nikola Culka in this bedroom with wooden funiture. He has a Canadian girl friend but probably with a room for her own.

I somewhere have a TV recording and found this during research on my HD, planned for a long time. I thought that this would be an East Germany family film (at least is German speaking Austria, set there).

I don’t remember the complete movie. Probably a typical family movie with a castle, kids and ghosts.

Rating 4-5 for now. Entry with many kids and bunk beds coming next.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

Family film part 3
Year: 2012
Year in film: 1990s ?
Country: USA
Who in bedroom: Greg, Rowley ~13
Kind of beds: separate + same bed
Available on DVD: yes
I own: yes, partly TV recording
Rating: 3 /10
Rating: ***
Comment: Greg (Zachary Gordon) and his friend sharing one single and narrow bed but Greg at other direction and Rowley’s feet are near his head. Also the usual rooms like in the earlier movies (Greg now wearing shorts in bed instead of tighty whities). At the end also a view of an empty yellow scouting tent inside.

Had been aired yesterday. Rebroadcasting today. Still a funny movie and some quite good scenes at a waterpark but Greg and his older brother are much older now and not very handsome. I prefer Rowley here. Typical pranks and plot like the other movies.

Rating 3 for this only. Movie 2 has even rating 6.

2 brothers, played by James Williams and Drew Winget sharing this colorful room. Both at least shirtless and at the beginning of the movie.

I think I have seen it before but also consider buying this on DVD (nut it’s quite expensive). Although only few good bedroom scenes. The movie isn’t also not that bad and quite funny. Though the boys are quite young. Also starring some other I think 3 boys including handsome Steven Hartman.

Rating 8-9 for now. I will recheck it at slow speed the next broadcasting.

There are two brothers (Peter and Paul Moran, brothers in real life) and their friend Dingo (Tommy White) who watch horror movies at night (I think together in a different room). Probably the brothers later sharing one wooden bed (maybe two mattresses and sheets ?). 50 minutes. Scene at 6 minutes. Another bedroom scene at the end. S9e11.

I found this by coincidence on YouTube searching for some different British School TV series.

Quite funny movie, but there are much better ones. Davey is the younger brother but I think is older than he looks like her.

Rating 5-6.

Matthew Lawrence in this bedroom. Not sure if he might have siblings (sister) but probably not and if any in a different room.

From my rare movies list of my overalls blog. There’s at least a girl in overalls. But I only have seen a short clip without her.

I like the Lawrence brothers. Unfortunately this Hallmark TV movie seems to be very rare.

Rating 6-7 for this bedroom.

There are three orphans. 2 brothers, 14+10 (played by Johnny Doran and Sparky Marcus) and their sister played by Krysty McNichol (sitting in Harvey’s wheelchair). Or it is a separate room and then it’s also more likely that the boys sharing the bunk bed.

I don’t remember correctly but I think the separate bed is in the same room on the left and is maybe usually used by the girl and the bunk beds by the brothers. Same style wooden beds.

Anyway very good series. I like bunk beds but there are better episodes.

I think only the two oldest brothers sharing a room (pic 1 from s6e15). Pic 2 from s11e5 (looks like a girl, there are also girls shown in the boys rooms, probably as visitors), pic 3 from s11e13 with 3 young boys sharing a room. Don Grady (1944-2012 as Robby), Tim Considine (Mike, also in Spin and Marty, rating 8) and Stanley Livingston (Chip). Also starring his brother Barry Livingston.

As announced in The Doris Day Show (rating 9) now this entry.

I only have checked some few episodes and have to check more, especially the earlier episodes. Also a very good scene is s1e11 (b&w). Looks quite interesting.

I like the 60s.

Rating 7 for now only.

Comment:
Mason around 10 yo sharing a bunk bed with his sister (Mason on upper bunk) longer hair, also one or two years later with short hair. Pic 1 near the beginning of the movie. Later a different location at his divorced dad (he sleeps on a sofa). Pic 2 more later at 50 min. showing a different room with additional 2 half siblings but I think they don’t share one room.

I recently bought this Oscar awarded movie on DVD and was disappointed. A real coming-of-age movie but without “usual” coming-of-age scenes. Quite handsome boy but only around the first half or third of the movie (At the beginning and pictured on the cover he is even younger than thought, so too young). I hoped for more scenes of the younger, preteen boy. Luckily the movie is 165 minutes.

I also expected a completetly different kind of movie and more documentary or at least mentioning the current age. You only notice a different year by a different haircut.12 years are shown but around one day (and 14 minutes in the movie) of each year.

And this kind of movie is nothing special. Every dad filming his kids. And I also know a similar DVD (I forget the title now but still consider buying that one). Update: It’s Put the camera on me.

Very few good scenes and few bedroom scenes. Best scenes maybe at 26 minutes with different actors. Probably it’s also soon on TV, so rather a waste of money.

Bedroom and movie rating 3-4 (at least quite unusual to share a bunk bed with a girl in that age).
