Don’t Go to Sleep (1982)

dontgotosleepdontgotosleep2

Horror film starring Oliver Robins
Year: 1982
Year in film: 1980s
Country: USA
Who in bedroom: Kevin ~10, Mary ~11
Kind of beds: bunk bed, single
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 4/10
Rating: ****
Comment: Oliver Robins (“Poltergeist 1982”) and film sister Robin Ignico sharing a wooden bunk bed (Oliver Robins in the lower bunk). Also other bedrooms (and locations) are shown (maybe of grown-ups ?). Or from their dead sister. They also moved to another house.

I found pic 1 on a Heather O’Rourke and Oliver Robins tribute clip and first thought of Poltergeist or Poltergeist II. But I think this is from that movie. At least pic 2 and there’s also a bunk bed. But most scenes are dark lit.

The girl wearing bib overalls (soon on my other blog, rating 3).

I like the 80s and bunk beds, but prefer brothers sharing a room.

Rating 4-5 for now.

11 or 12 yo Stefano Colagrande as 8 yo Andrea /Andrew and film brother Simone Giannozzi as Milo/Miles sharing this room. White metal beds close to each other. Splendid room set in an mansion in Florence.

Quite interesting movie, I found during research for my Italian coming-of-age movie.

English title: Misunderstood. 1869 novel by Florence Montgomery but movie setting is at present time. Directed by Luigi Comencini (Pinocchio (1972), Cuore (1984), Un ragazzo di Calabria), all that movies and series are very good and partly on my sailor suit blog.

Milo is very young. Rating 4-5 for this bedroom. There are also later remakes of this movie. A 1984 remake (filmed in 1982) even starring Henry Thomas and Huckleberry Fox (I have to check it).

Heather O’Rourke and film brother Oliver Robins both sharing this room. Although pic 2 looks much different than pic 1. The girl sleeping on the left (probably that with the green sheets). So pink sheets for the boy? Probably it’s just a bed cover. The real sheets are mainly blue. There’s another grown-up sister called Dana (Dominique Dunee) who probably has a room for her own.

I haven’t seen this movie for a long time, same for the sequels. There’s also a 2015 remake which also needs to be checked.

Interesting 80s bedroom (and movie). Unfortunately no brothers.

Rating 4-5 for this bedroom. Probably more for the movie. Also see my overalls blog, rating 3.

There are 45 episodes but rather few good bedroom scenes. Most siblings are  I think in ep 43. 2 sisters and 3 brothers. The 2 girls, around 9 yo sharing a room (pic 3) and painted a boarder in the middle of the room including a table. Wooden beds, the sheets of the other bed are blue. The room of the boys (Benny, Hannes, Matthias, 2 around 10, 1 around 7) is shown briefly (pic 2). Not sure if all 3 sharing this room, probably at least 2.

Pic 1 is from ep 16 showing a boy without siblings. One more pic of a girl’s bedroom on my overalls blog. Ep 44 showing a wooden high sleeper. I think also a young brother and sister sharing one room. Most kids are very young anyway and boys are longhaired. Many wear corduroy pants.

I like the 80s but rather few scenes of interest. So rating 5 only. Many overalls scenes (rating 7), some very handsome boys and other good scenes (Lederhosen, speedos, shirtless, shiny shorts…)

13 yo Mats (played by Lukas Holgersson, on the right) and his younger friend David (Olle Krantz) sharing a bedroom.

Has been aired around Christmas. This is a remake of the 1975 series (which is probably better). English title: The Boy With the Golden Pants.

Not sure about the time setting. Obviously modern. Based on a 1967 novel by Max Lundgren. I missed most of the film. There are definitely better movies. However good plot.

Rating 2-3.

Comment: Several boys at an orphange (including Kieran Culkin ~16 yo) in a rather small attic room. 2 rows of white metal beds. Also boys sharing a bed (maybe not at night). Also other locations, but probably not much of interest.

Quite good movie, plot and setting. I don’t like much dorms or the 1940s (maybe except some few movies, like French ones). I prefer wooden beds and bunk beds.

So rating 4-5 only. Kieran Culkin is maybe the best young actor in here.

Also women and men in bib overalls (rating 4). For more infos see that blog.

Comment: Has been aired last Christmas. Probably David Dorfman in the lower bunk of this  dark brown, wooden bunk bed. Not sure who sleeps in the upper bunk. First I thought of older film sister Katie Stuart, but there seems to be 2 more young twin brothers (I haven’t noticed them), Thomas and 12 yo Munro Chambers. So probably rather the 2 or 3 brothers in one room. Also starring Gregory Smith (“Small Soldiers”).

Typical Sci-Fi movie. Very few and short bedroom scenes.

So rating 3-4 only. I missed some scenes. 2 part mini series. 251 minutes. 1963 time travelling novel by Madeleine L’Engle. In the novel Charles is 5 yo and the twins 10 yo. Meg (played by Katie Stuart) sleeping in an attic bedroom (probably alone).

I thought that this is an older series but for the 800th anniversary there are 5 new episodes focussing on 6 (young ?) boys.

Typical modern, simple wooden beige bunk beds and I think separate beds. I have seen some parts of the 1st episode. I don’t like the boys in this season. Some scenes in underwear and the like.

Rating 4-5 for now.

Nah Kraus (“Der verlorene Bruder”, Lederhosen blog rating 4) in this blue bedroom. No siblings. In street wear on his bed.

Has been aired yesterday. Exciting movie. Handsome actor. Some good scenes, also cycling.

Rating 5-6 (for bedroom and movie).

Can be watched on the zdf mediathek.

Info 24: On TV Die Jungs-WG – season 4

jungswg-italien

Daily at 20.10 h on German Kika. “Die Jungs-WG: Sommer. Sonne. Elternfrei.” Also available online at tivi.de

Other teen boys this time in Italy (summer). But the boys in season 3 (snow) were much better.

3 boys sleeping in the basement. 2 upstairs. But as it’s too warm they sleep outside on the balcony.

Season 2 (Mallorca) is also interesting: In the 1st episode also bedrooms at their real homes are shown. At least one boy appears to share a bed with his younger brother (or is this the bed of the parents?) At least one bed on Mallorca is a double bed. Season 1 is poor. But I only have briefly checked it.

Season 3 (rating 6) at
