Update: Stapelbed (Villa Achterwerk)

I finally found my tape and added this pic to it’s entry.

There were even much more kids in this bunk bed: 13. Many headshots. Kids are quite young ~8-10 yo.

Kids (boys and girls in pajamas and other nightwear) entering this rare bed, one at a time. Then they talk about one subject and their feelings. At the end there’s a pillow fight, also to the lower bunk, and a male voice says, that they should stop or he comes upstairs. Should be the dad?

VPRO production. Just in 1989.

Main entry, rating 5

C’est pas ma faute! (1999)

Family comedy film
Year in film:
Who in bedroom:
boys ~11 ?
Kind of beds:
bunk bed, separate beds
Available on DVD:
I own:
6/10  ?
At least one, simple wooden bunk bed and also at least 3 more separate beds (not sure if in the same room but probably). 2 beds are wooden as well, one bed is a simple guest bed out of steel. Is this inside the hotel Nautilus? There’s also a plot of a summer camp outside and a tree house and 2 kid gangs.

There are maybe 2 brothers (regular) sleping in the bunk bed. Some other beds are probably taken from other rooms.

I don’t know/don’t remember the complete movie. English title: I Didn’t Do It!

Also on my bib overalls blog (girl, rating 6) and soon on my shiny shorts blog, rating ~5.

I like bunk beds, but I think few good bedroom scenes if any.

So rating 5-6 only.

Update: Les allumettes suédoises

I have rechecked the complete series (rating 8).

Next to the great scene of Olivier and his Jewish friend David sharing one bed, there are also dorm scenes in ep 1 and ep 3 (ep 3 pictured). At least 12, probably some more beds in the dorm. Episode 1 has only or mainly dark scenes.

Also now on my bib overalls blog (rating 2, in fact an old man only but Olivier and a woman in blue aprons). Also soon on my pigtails blog.

German Wikipedia says 12 yo Olivier in 1932, French Wikipedia says 10 yo in 1930. Maybe in the novel only? Actor is 14 and/or 15.

Great series, main entry

Yusuf ile Kenan

Awarded drama. Ömer Kavur.
Year: 1979
Year in film: 1970s
Country: Turkey
Who in bedroom: boys ~9-14 ?
Kind of beds: bunk beds, single. dorm
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 5/10
Rating: *****
Comment: Some simple wooden bunk beds and also some single beds in this dorm. Also this or more likely another large, sparse room with few beds. Main characters are the 9 and 14 yo brothers.

Looks quite interesting, but I prefer other and colorful movies.

So rating 5-6 only.

Scout Camp (2009)

Comedy film
Year: 2009
Year in film: 2000s ?
Country: USA
Who in bedroom: boys ~10-17
Kind of beds: bunk beds, cabin
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 6/10
Rating: ******
Comment: Some boys, including many older teen boys in this cabin with steel bunk beds. At least around 4 bunk beds in this cabin. Probably more cabins, but I think not shown.

Quite interesting, so rating 6-7. But there are much better camp and Scout movies.

Also on my shiny shorts blog, rating 3.

Unknown 8: French or Italian movie, bedwetting Chinese orphan ? 1980s ?

Unknown family film
Year: 1980s ??
Year in film: 1980s ?
Country: French ?
Who in bedroom: boys ~8-11 ?
Kind of beds: separate beds, dorm
Available on DVD: yes ?
I own: yes, partly TV recording
Rating: 5/10
Rating: *****
Comment: I found these screenshots on my old PC. Aired probably in the early 90s, (movie could be older, maybe late 80s ?). There’s a dorm in an orphanage and a younger, maybe Chinese bedwetting boy. 2 other kids laying his hand in a bowl of water while he sleeps. I think, the boy later tried to escape while the others sleep. And I think is caught by a man. Could also be Spanish or similar.

Does anybody remembers the title?

Neue Vahr Süd

Comedy film. Frederick Lau
Year: 2010
Year in film: 1980
Country: Germany
Who in bedroom: Frank 20, others
Kind of beds: bunk beds, 3 story
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no, partly TV recording
Rating: 3/10
Rating: ***
Comment: Some young soldiers (conscripts) including 20 yo Frederick Lau in this dorm with 3 story bunk beds.

I like the 80s and Frederick Lau but I don’t like this movie. 3 story bunk beds are quite unusual but maybe nothing special in barracks.

I’ve added the tag 3 story and previousy had “Too Young the Hero” starring Rick Schroder (rating 6, at the Navy).

Phares d’ouest

Documentary series, Floating school
Year: 1990
Year in film: 1990s
Country: France
Who in bedroom: boys 10-15
Kind of beds: rare bunk beds
Available on DVD: yes
I own: yes, partly TV recordings
Rating: 6/10
Rating: ******
Comment: Next to the “beds” on the ship, I think mainly or only hammocks, there are also these rare bunk beds behind a wall opening, I think in a builing in ep 4. I only know wall niche beds in medieval and 18/19th century settings.

The bunk beds have (at least) 2 stories. Unfortunately, I haven’t noticed better views of them. Mainly wooden but with steel ladders. There are in total 12 boys (+ crew) but not sure if all sharing one room. Maybe some sleeping on the floor or in other rooms.

Rating 6-7 for now. Also on my bib overalls blog, rating 6. English title: Western Lights.

Vito e gli altri

Year: 1991
Year in film: 1990s
Country: Italy
Who in bedroom: boys ~11-16
Kind of beds: separate beds
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no, partly TV recording
Rating: 7/10
Rating: *******
Comment: I think 4 beds with shirtless boys including Vito (Nando Triola), I think the youngest, around 11 or 12 yo. Others are much older. Street kids, maybe (partly) orphans and not brothers.

Great movie and some nice scenes, but I prefer bunk beds, brothers and US movies.

So for the bedrooms, rating 7-8 only.

I have seen it long time ago, but checked it completetly but at high speed some months ago for my unknown Italian movie (on my sailor suit blog). English title: Vito and the Others.

One Good Turn (1955)

Comedy film starring Norman Wisdom
Year: 1955
Year in film: 1954
Country: UK
Who in bedroom: Jimmy ~7, others
Kind of beds: dorm, separate beds
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 4/10 ?
Rating: ****
Comment: Some, I think mainly younger boys at a small, private looking orphange. At least 10 beds in this room. I doubt that there are more rooms.

I only have checked it briefly and don’t remember all scenes.

Also a boy in a sailor suit, other blog, rating 4.

Rating 4-5 for now only.
