Who in bedroom: Peter ~ 11 ?
Kind of beds: single bed
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no, partly TV recording
Rating: 5/10
Rating: *****
Comment: Clayton Williamson shirtless in this bedroom. I think no siblings?

I recently found the title of this previously unknown movie on my shiny shorts blog (rating 5). Also on my bib overalls blog (teen girl, rating 4).

Handsome actor. Interesting series and plot.

Looks like a typical bedroom.

Rating 5-6 for now.

Scout Camp (2009)

Comedy film
Year: 2009
Year in film: 2000s ?
Country: USA
Who in bedroom: boys ~10-17
Kind of beds: bunk beds, cabin
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 6/10
Rating: ******
Comment: Some boys, including many older teen boys in this cabin with steel bunk beds. At least around 4 bunk beds in this cabin. Probably more cabins, but I think not shown.

Quite interesting, so rating 6-7. But there are much better camp and Scout movies.

Also on my shiny shorts blog, rating 3.

Unknown 8: French or Italian movie, bedwetting Chinese orphan ? 1980s ?

unknownfrenchitchinese2unknownfrenchitchinese

Unknown family film
Year: 1980s ??
Year in film: 1980s ?
Country: French ?
Who in bedroom: boys ~8-11 ?
Kind of beds: separate beds, dorm
Available on DVD: yes ?
I own: yes, partly TV recording
Rating: 5/10
Rating: *****
Comment: I found these screenshots on my old PC. Aired probably in the early 90s, (movie could be older, maybe late 80s ?). There’s a dorm in an orphanage and a younger, maybe Chinese bedwetting boy. 2 other kids laying his hand in a bowl of water while he sleeps. I think, the boy later tried to escape while the others sleep. And I think is caught by a man. Could also be Spanish or similar.

Does anybody remembers the title?

Leider Lustig

Comedy series
Year: 2016-
Year in film: 2010s
Country: Germany
Who in bedroom: Marius ~10?
Kind of beds: high sleeper
Available on DVD: no ?
I own: yes, partly TV recording
Rating: 4/10 *
Rating: ****
Comment: At least this handsome blonde boy in this bedroom with a high sleeper. Pic from s1e1 (guest Chris Tall). Probably his younger sister has a room for her own.

Unfortunately very few scenes of the room. And I think even fewer in later episodes, if any. Probably a studio room anyway.

Also nice sitting scenes of the boy in jeans.

I prefer bunk beds and siblings sharing a room.

Rating 4 for now only. Series is still running and available on the Mediathek.

Update: I think the boy is called Marius. He also appeared in later episodes. But obviously few scenes.

Junges Licht

Drama
Year: 2016
Year in film: 1961
Country: Germany
Who in bedroom: Julian 12, Sophie ~5 ?
Kind of beds: separate beds
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 3/10 *
Rating: ***
Comment: From my Lederhosen blog (rating 9+). I almost forgot to post it here as well. Oscar Brose as 12 yo main character and probably his younger film sister, played by Magdalena Matz sharing this 1960s room.

Nothing special and few bedroom scenes. Wooden lower beds, angled at 90 degrees and ugly wallpapers.

For bedroom rating 3-4 only. Much higher for the movie itself.

For more infos see my other blog. Partly b&w. Also starring Peter Lohmeyer.

Neue Vahr Süd

Comedy film. Frederick Lau
Year: 2010
Year in film: 1980
Country: Germany
Who in bedroom: Frank 20, others
Kind of beds: bunk beds, 3 story
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no, partly TV recording
Rating: 3/10
Rating: ***
Comment: Some young soldiers (conscripts) including 20 yo Frederick Lau in this dorm with 3 story bunk beds.

I like the 80s and Frederick Lau but I don’t like this movie. 3 story bunk beds are quite unusual but maybe nothing special in barracks.

I’ve added the tag 3 story and previousy had “Too Young the Hero” starring Rick Schroder (rating 6, at the Navy).

The Armoire (2009)

armoire2armoire

Short film by Jamie Travies
Year: 2009
Year in film: 2000s ?
Country: Canada
Who in bedroom: Aaron 11, Tony ~13
Kind of beds: separate beds
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no, partly TV recording
Rating: 7/10
Rating: *******
Comment: William Cuddy (Aaron, upper bunk) and Ricardo Hoyos sharing this room and bunk bed.

Short film (22 minutes).

An interesting scene at the end of the movie where the older boy in the lower bunk kicking to his younger brother on the upper bunk and tilting up that mattress.

Also on my bib overalls blog (Aaron, rating 4).

Phares d’ouest

pharedouestpharedouest-ep4

Documentary series, Floating school
Year: 1990
Year in film: 1990s
Country: France
Who in bedroom: boys 10-15
Kind of beds: rare bunk beds
Available on DVD: yes
I own: yes, partly TV recordings
Rating: 6/10
Rating: ******
Comment: Next to the “beds” on the ship, I think mainly or only hammocks, there are also these rare bunk beds behind a wall opening, I think in a builing in ep 4. I only know wall niche beds in medieval and 18/19th century settings.

The bunk beds have (at least) 2 stories. Unfortunately, I haven’t noticed better views of them. Mainly wooden but with steel ladders. There are in total 12 boys (+ crew) but not sure if all sharing one room. Maybe some sleeping on the floor or in other rooms.

Rating 6-7 for now. Also on my bib overalls blog, rating 6. English title: Western Lights.

Salem’s Lot (1979)

salemslotsalemslot4

Horror film, 2 parts starring Lance Kerwin
Year: 1979
Year in film: 1970s
Country: USA
Who in bedroom: Mark ~17. Danny ~12
Kind of beds: single beds
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 7/10
Rating: *******
Comment: Different locations but very interesting, wooden 70s bedrooms. 17 or 18 yo, but younger looking Lance Kerwin (pics 1+2) I think alone in this room, but also visited by 2 friends. The 2 brothers (Danny and Ralphie, played by Brad Savage, pics 3+4  and Ronnie Scribner),  I think they have rooms for their own, but not sure, but Ralphie becomes a vampire anyway. Also a hospital bed of green metal and bedrooms of grown-ups (soon on my shiny shorts blog).

I like the rooms, very nice props and colors, but I think only single beds (except the hospital). Great story by Stephen King and handsome Lance Kerwin. I also have to check the later adaptions.

Rating 7-8.

Est – Ouest

Drama, Catherine Deneuve. Oscar nominated
Year: 1999
Year in film: 1946
Country: Russia, others
Who in bedroom: Sasha ~17, Seryozha 7, woman
Kind of beds: separate beds
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 3/10
Rating: ***
Comment: 17 or 18 yo Sergey Bodrov (1971-2002), I think 9 or 10 yo Ruben Tapiero as 7 yo Seryozha and maybe a young lady (behind a room-divider) sharing this room. There’s also 14 yo Erwan Baynaud (L’enfant sage) as 14 yo Seryoza but I haven’t noticed him in a bedroom. I understood, that the 17 yo boy is a neighbor and not the brother.

Quite interesting but typical movie and room of this time setting.

English title: East/West or East-West. 121 minutes.

Rating 3 only.
