Family series, kangaroo, remake
Year: 1992-1993

Comment: 10 yo brother Jerry (Simon James, red shirt, upper bunk) and his film twin sister Louise (Kate McNeil) sharing this room and dark wooden bunk bed. Pic from s1e22. Also he shown in bed in s1e14.

A room of a Japanese girl is shown in s1e12. Also some more locations, like a tent (boy with a dark bowlcut and round glasses in s1e25).

Good series and handsome kids, but I prefer the 60s Classic (rating 6, 2 brothers).

Also on my shiny shorts blog, rating 9.

Extra Zigda

Sitcom, 15 ep
Year: 1998
Year in film: ~1998
Country: France
Who in bedroom: Karine ~8, Jonathan ~10
Kind of beds: bunk bed
Available on DVD: no
I own: no
Rating: 4/10 ?
Rating: ****
Comment: First I thought, that 2 sisters would share this room and bunk bed, but the older girl is the alien lady Zigda. Karine (Clémence La Fleurière), maybe around 8 or 9 yo sleeps on the lower bunk and her brother Jonathan (Morgan Vasner) on the upper bunk. Pic from ep 11. Both together showing in a different episode. The wall paper and props look more like for babies.

(Older) brothers and sisters sharing a bunk bed is quite rare.

But there are better rooms, scenes and kids in other series and movies.

Rating 4-5.

Also on my bib overalls blog (boy, rating 5).

Comment: 9 or 10 yo Tadeusz Horvath aka Tadeusz Horvath-Sienkiewicz as Stas (Stanni in Germany), pic 2 sharing the room with 2 girls (one older, one younger), probably his sisters played by Agnieszka Krukówna (Asia/Anja) and Monika Sapilak (?) as Basia/Bärbel. Beds of the girls a bit angled. Beige or yellow wooden beds and farm setting. Not sure about the time setting. Probably the 80s. Pics from ep 2.

There are also 3 more kids (2 young twin boys and one girl), but I haven’t seen their room, yet.

Also on my bib overalls blog (boy, girl, man, rating 6) and my pigtails blog (rating 6). German title: Die Kinder vom Mühlental.

I still have to recheck the complete series as well as the sequels.

Rating 6 for now. 2 sisters and one brother in one room is quite rare. Interesting farm room.

The Waltons – Season 6

waltons-s6

There are 2 British orphans, boy and girl visiting the Waltons around Christmas (1939 ?), sharing one bed. Disc 4 at 1h13. I think it’s a double episode s6e1?

Probably the first episode of boy and girl sharing a bed. But the boy is very young and first never talks. Probably the room and bed of John-Boy. See main entry for other pics of this room.

Rating 4-5 for this.

Main entry rating 8 with up to 4 boys (usually 3 brothers) in one room and 3 sisters in another.

Yours, Mine and Ours (1968)

Comedy film starring Henry Fonda

Who in bedroom: boys. Girls
Kind of beds: bunk beds + separate
Available on DVD: yes

Rating: 7/10 ?

Comment: Like in the 2005 remake there are in total 18 kids (I think 7 brothers and 11 sisters, in the novel there are 20 kids (8 boys) in 8 rooms, 3 stories), but not in one room. About 3 of them look grown-up and about 4 are very young. Most famous kids are 11 yo Mitch Vogel (Bonanza) and 7 yo Eric Shea.

I don’t know the complete movie. According to a time chart there are at least 5 letter-coded bedrooms for half of the kids. So in total around 8 rooms.

Jean and Veronica sharing room A (maybe more here), Mary and Gerald room C, Tommy and Phillip room D, Germaine, Teresa and Joan room E. Rest 9 including the room with the 2 bunk beds. Rest 5. So probably 2 or 3 more rooms makes 7-8 rooms + 1 for the parents.

At least 2 wooden bunk beds in one room. Obviously 2 older girls and 2 older boys sharing the room with the bunk beds. I don’t know how the other rooms look like and if there are more bunk beds. In one scene 3 young kids (at least 2 girls) entering the parents’ bed.

I hope for a soon broadcasting but obviously there are no more than 4 or maybe 5 in one room. I can only say for sure of 3 girls sharing one room and also 2 boys. In the remake there are at least 4 brothers sharing a room.

Rating 7 for now.

I think Grant Warnock and his sister, played by Janine Tidman (maybe a bit older) sharing this room.

I found it some time ago and don’t remember much. The main plot is about a caveman. Based on a 1963 novel. I think not officially on DVD. There’s also a 2002 BBC remake.

Typical British 80s bedroom.

Rating 3-4.

Several kids between 6-12 yo in different bedrooms. Pics from today’s episode s1e3.

Pic 1 showing Charlotte (Connors ?) sitting on the lower bunk of this white metal bunk bed and her redhaired brother. Not sure about his name. Maybe Dean Moutopoulos. Probably Alex (Mitchinson ?), (previously I thought I understood Yannis). There’s a similar looking boy called Leon (pic 2, uncredited on IMDb) at another case.

I have to recheck more episodes. But I like this series. Handsome kids and funny plots. Good colorful bedrooms. Probably also 2 brothers and 2 sisters. I always thought that this is set in Spain. 26 or 52 shorter episodes. Beyond Productions. Book by Dorling Kindersley.

Rating 5-6 for now.

Comment: Oliver Robins (“Poltergeist 1982”) and film sister Robin Ignico sharing a wooden bunk bed (Oliver Robins in the lower bunk). Also other bedrooms (and locations) are shown (maybe of grown-ups ?). Or from their dead sister. They also moved to another house.

I found pic 1 on a Heather O’Rourke and Oliver Robins tribute clip and first thought of Poltergeist or Poltergeist II. But I think this is from that movie. At least pic 2 and there’s also a bunk bed. But most scenes are dark lit.

The girl wearing bib overalls (soon on my other blog, rating 3).

I like the 80s and bunk beds, but prefer brothers sharing a room.

Rating 4-5 for now.

Heather O’Rourke and film brother Oliver Robins both sharing this room. Although pic 2 looks much different than pic 1. The girl sleeping on the left (probably that with the green sheets). So pink sheets for the boy? Probably it’s just a bed cover. The real sheets are mainly blue. There’s another grown-up sister called Dana (Dominique Dunee) who probably has a room for her own.

I haven’t seen this movie for a long time, same for the sequels. There’s also a 2015 remake which also needs to be checked.

Interesting 80s bedroom (and movie). Unfortunately no brothers.

Rating 4-5 for this bedroom. Probably more for the movie. Also see my overalls blog, rating 3.

Comment:
There are 45 episodes but rather few good bedroom scenes. Most siblings are  I think in ep 43. 2 sisters and 3 brothers. The 2 girls, around 9 yo sharing a room (pic 3) and painted a boarder in the middle of the room including a table. Wooden beds, the sheets of the other bed are blue. The room of the boys (Benny, Hannes, Matthias, 2 around 10, 1 around 7) is shown briefly (pic 2). Not sure if all 3 sharing this room, probably at least 2.

Pic 1 is from ep 16 showing a boy without siblings. One more pic of a girl’s bedroom on my overalls blog. Ep 44 showing a wooden high sleeper. I think also a young brother and sister sharing one room. Most kids are very young anyway and boys are longhaired. Many wear corduroy pants.

I like the 80s but rather few scenes of interest. So rating 5 only. Many overalls scenes (rating 7), some very handsome boys and other good scenes (Lederhosen, speedos, shirtless, shiny shorts…)
