There are 2 young brothers, played by Dennis Ross and Lonnie Thomas and maybe both sharing this room. Vintage steel bed(s).

I’ve checked it briefly some time for my Western blog (rating 5), but don’t remember much.

Rating at least ~3-4 for now. Boys are quite young.

Comment: Looks like a rather small attic room/dorm with I think at least ~3 or 4 beds. Probably set in the girls’ boarding school. Starring Veronica Cartwright (“The Birds”) and Karen Balkin as girls.

I found this some time ago and don’t remember much.

Quite interesting room. But I prefer color movies and brothers.

Rating ~3-4 only.

Comment: Some, I think mainly younger boys at a small, private looking orphange. At least 10 beds in this room. I doubt that there are more rooms.

I only have checked it briefly and don’t remember all scenes.

Also a boy in a sailor suit, other blog, rating 4.

Rating 4-5 for now only.

Comment:
Several boys in this boarding school (I think also shirtless) in a quite large large, nice 1950s dorm. Not sure if there are more dorms. At least 2 rows (or maybe 3) of white metal beds horizontally aligned, separated by low cupboards. There are also tables and high cupboards in the room.

I like classics and this is much better than the remakes. I think rather few scenes in the middle of the movie. I have few entries about boarding schools, especially with early settings. The novel is set even earlier but the plot is timeless and always set in the presence.

Also on my Lederhosen blog (rating 4) and my pigtails blog (boy, rating 8).

Rating 6-7 for this dorm.

Update: Our Gang

ourgang-cannedfishingourgang-shrimpsforaday2

Like on all my other blogs, I make an update of this great Classic series aka Little Rascals. Please note, that I don’ know/don’t remember all movies. All or most movies were also colorized. There are some few siblings and twin characters (boys), but probably not shown here as most gang members are friends. Nice night shirts.

Pic 1 is from the 1938 movie “Canned Fishing”. Spanky is in Alfalfa’s bed but he sleeps in a different bed (in the same room) earlier. Wooden beds.

Pics 2+3 are from the 1934 movie “Shrimps For a Day”. There is a larger room in an orphanage with several beds, maybe around 8? But also 3 boys sharing one bed. Metal beds.

I previously just had “When the Wind Blows” rating 3.

/2013/07/06/when-the-wind-blows-1930/

I don’t like the orphanage and prefer the beds at home. I have to check more episodes. Maybe there are bunk beds as well? Or probably a foldaway bed?

Rating 6 for these scenes. More movies:

Night ‘n’ Gales (1937) 4 boys and 1 man in one bed, colorized, rating 4

Rating: *****
Comment:
Two gay teen boys, played by Philippe Bories and Bernard Flamain in and on one older looking metal bed. Also later in a tent.

44 minutes short film. B&w. English title “A History Without Importance”.

Quite interesting and controversial in these days. But there are lots of other and better gay themed and coming-of-age movies.

For the bed/bedroom rating 5 only.

Merlusse (1938)

Drama. Marcel Pagnol

Comment:
Some orphaned boys in a large, roomy dorm at a boarding school with metal beds.

Should not show Pagnol’s childhood memories, and set a bit later around 1925,  but filmed at his school in 1935 although it looks older.

I like Pagnol movies but there are much better ones (Check out my sailor suit blog).

Rating 3-4 for this one.

Pachín almirante

Rating:

Rating: ******
Comment:
Some younger boys (including Singer Angelito (Ángel Gómez Mateo) as Pachínin) in this dorm in metal bunk beds. Grown up’s, 2 men in a different room in seperate non-bunk metal beds.

I don’t know the complete movie. Many scenes are set on a small ship with the boys in white sailor suits (sailor suit blog rating 5) but I think this dorm is not on the ship.

I’m also not sure about the amount of bunk beds and rooms. Looks like at least 6 bunk beds here.

Quite interesting and I like bunk beds. Some handsome boys.

But rating 6-7 for now only. Movie in color would maybe better.

Rating: *****
Comment:
The pic showing 4 kids at least 2 boys (on the left), probably 4 boys in electric driven, horizontal foldaway beds.

The Kettle’s have 15 kids, but around 6 are grown-ups or older teens. I think some more are females (at least 4 young girls and 2 very young boys). Farm setting first (I didn’t noticed bedrooms of interest there), but here they had already moved to the house-of-the-future. There are 10 different movies (1947-1957). I still have to check most of them.

Quite interesting and my first entry of this kind of beds. One of the most famous boys is Teddy Infuhr. Some very good other scenes including jeans and overalls (partly in other movies, soon on my other blog).

Rating 5-6 for this modern bedroom. Funny and rare but I don’t like it that much.
