Secret Valley (1980)

Kids adventure series, 26 ep
Year: 1980
Year in film: ~1980
Country: Australia
Who in bedroom: boys ~11. Girls
Kind of beds: separate bed
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no, partly TV recording
Rating: 6/10 ?
Rating: ******
Comment: Pic 1 showing 2 boys in ep 26 (not sure if brothers), pic 2 is from ep 21, probably a different room and actor. Many kids acting. Some are siblings (in the series and in real life).

Another great Australian series by Roger Mirams. I only have checked it briefly.

It’s a kid’s holiday camp in a ghost city (gold mine, Western town setting). Maybe I missed even better scenes?

Also on my pigtails blog rating 6 and my overalls blog (girl) rating 3.

There was a sequel series called Professor Poopsnagle’s Steam Zeppelin” with the same kids. Nice blue coveralls in there.

Rating 6 for now. Needs to be rechecked completetly.

Escape from Wildcat Canyon

Country: Canada, USA

Kind of beds: single bed
Available on DVD: yes

Comment: Canadian Michael Caloz at least in pic 1 in a modern, colorful bedroom. Scene at 22 minutes. Not sure about pic 2,  according to my notes of my VHS this must also be from this movie but I haven’t found it online. A boy at least shirtless in this loft of a cabin.  Reminds me of much earlier settings like LHOTP. Who can help here?

I also have him in Whisker (1997) rating 6.

Rating 4-5 for pic 1 and 3-4 for the “bedroom” of pic 2. Obviously no siblings. Movie is quite poor.

Urwisy z Doliny Mlynów

Who in bedroom: Stas ~10, Asia 13, Basia 9
Kind of beds: same bed

Comment: 9 or 10 yo Tadeusz Horvath aka Tadeusz Horvath-Sienkiewicz as Stas (Stanni in Germany), pic 2 sharing the room with 2 girls (one older, one younger), probably his sisters played by Agnieszka Krukówna (Asia/Anja) and Monika Sapilak (?) as Basia/Bärbel. Beds of the girls a bit angled. Beige or yellow wooden beds and farm setting. Not sure about the time setting. Probably the 80s. Pics from ep 2.

There are also 3 more kids (2 young twin boys and one girl), but I haven’t seen their room, yet.

Also on my bib overalls blog (boy, girl, man, rating 6) and my pigtails blog (rating 6). German title: Die Kinder vom Mühlental.

I still have to recheck the complete series as well as the sequels.

Rating 6 for now. 2 sisters and one brother in one room is quite rare. Interesting farm room.

180 city teens of LA at a mountain camp. 60 minutes. Very simple, selfmade wooden bunk beds. I think mainly older teens. Not sure if more than 2 bunk beds in each room/cabin. Maybe 4?

I found this (and one other) nice documentary on

No entry on IMDb (but on tcm).

I only have checked it briefly.

Rating 6-7.

Update: Die Kinder vom Alstertal

I found some few more parts on one of my VHS tapes. (Unknown episode).

In a later episode/season (s3 or s4 ?), Timo and Tobias now sharing a wooden bunk bed.

I wonder why? And why has the younger boy (Tobias, pic 2, wearing boxer shorts) the upper bunk? He’s even bullying his older brother. There are some new (young) actors in later seasons, but they have a big house. There are also girls, but I don’t remember their rooms.

Timo is much more handsome and Tobias now wearing braces and shorter hair.

Rating ~7 for this room. Main entry, rating 10 at

The Waltons – Season 6

There are 2 British orphans, boy and girl visiting the Waltons around Christmas (1939 ?), sharing one bed. Disc 4 at 1h13. I think it’s a double episode s6e1?

Probably the first episode of boy and girl sharing a bed. But the boy is very young and first never talks. Probably the room and bed of John-Boy. See main entry for other pics of this room.

Rating 4-5 for this.

Main entry rating 8 with up to 4 boys (usually 3 brothers) in one room and 3 sisters in another.

Update: Little House on the Prairie (f/m)

I found 2 boys, maybe brothers sharing a room in s9e1. Beds are horizontally aligned. The other boy in the left bed is darkhaired.

Pic 2 showing a better view of the attic with Laura and Mary sharing one bed wearing night caps (s1e15). Their little sister sleeps elsewhere, obviously downstairs.

Pic 3 showing an interesting Western-like green metal bed in the 2nd post-series movie Little House: Bless All the Dear Children (1984) (set around 10 years later, probably in the 1880s or 1890s).

Main entry, previously rating 5 at

Comment: Gary Gray in this bedroom. Wooden bed with pointed posts. Scene at 9 minutes. There’s also a different location with him and a man later in a cabin.

Handsome actor. Unfortunately no siblings here.

I also have two other Lassie entries.

Rating 6 for this. I like Classics.

Une histoire sans importance

Gay drama
Year in film:
~1980 ?
Who in bedroom:
Claude, Philippe, 16-17
Kind of beds:
same bed

Rating: *****
Two gay teen boys, played by Philippe Bories and Bernard Flamain in and on one older looking metal bed. Also later in a tent.

44 minutes short film. B&w. English title “A History Without Importance”.

Quite interesting and controversial in these days. But there are lots of other and better gay themed and coming-of-age movies.

For the bed/bedroom rating 5 only.

Buddy Foster in this bedroom. Sorry, no better pics. I think he doesn’t have siblings. There are other kid actors and I thought one younger boy is his brother but is just a friend, Harold, played by Richard Steele in 9 episodes. Pics from s3e5.

Another great early 70s series. And a handsome blond boy actor.

I don’t know all season. Maybe there are other rooms shown as well.

Spin off of The Andy Griffith Show (starring Ron Howard who also starred here in one episode) rating 6 b&w.

Buddy Foster also starred in Hondo (1967), Western blog, rating 7.
