Comment:
2 young boys and 2 young girls each sharing one metal bed. There’s also an even younger toddler girl. Either there’s a third bed which I haven’t seen or she sleeps with her parents.

Short silent film. 9 minutes. PD available on archive.org. Aka Hanging Stockings on a Christmas Eve.

At the beginning the kids are shown in the living room, the boys wearing white sailor collars. But mainly in the background and the image quality is quite poor.

First movie about this 1823 poem. But maybe set in the presence (1900s). Some sources say movie releases in 1908. IMDb says 1905 (but also says animation movie).

At least another movie with kids (including girls) sharing beds and even 5 in a room. Quite funny also a pillow fight, but the kids are much too young. Interesting historic bedroom and beds though.

Rating 2.

Louis Hofmann (Tom, on the right, metal bed) and his younger brother Sid praying at a wooden bed. Loft bedroom.

Had been aired recently (rebroadcasting Dec 26 on arte). I have seen it completely for the first time.

The worst Tom Sawyer version ever. Sorry. Everything is bad. Actors (although Louis is quite handsome but not with that hair and pants), props, setting, style of movie making …

Huck, Sid and Aunt Polly are much too young. Big bedroom, but could be worse. Sid also sitting on Tom’s bed. Why different kind of beds? And of course no bib overalls (what might be true to the novel). The plot is just about Tom but they probably want to add a Huck. It’s hard to put alle the plot in one movie.

Typical modern 2010s German movie (like Wickie) to get families in theatres. Please check out my other Tom+Huck versions on all my blogs.

For the sake of completion.

Bedroom scenes rating 2-3. Movie 3, Louis face 8.

Whistle Down the Wind

Drama starring Hayley Mills
Year: 1961
Year in film: 1959
Country: UK
Who in bedroom: Kathie, Nan ~11. Charles ~7
Kind of beds: girls in  1 bed
Available on DVD: yes
I own: no
Rating: 2/10 ?
Rating: **
Comment: Hayley Mills (Kathie) and her film sister played by Diane Holgate sharing one bed. Brief scene at 18 minutes. There’s also a younger brother (Alan Barnes) but I don’t know where he sleeps. I think not in the same room.

Novel by Mary Hayley Bell. Farm content.

I don’t know the complete movie and have to check it again the next broadcasting. Completely on YouTube but I only checked it at high speed.

There are musicals and/or stage plays with a boy and man and some with a girl in bib overalls but I don’t know of any scenes in this movie.

Only one single and young brother. I prefer US movies anyway. Maybe famous and good novel but I don’t like this movie.

So rating 2-3 for now only.

Comment: David Geclowicz in this rare green futuristic bedroom. Light green plastic or leather bed. No siblings. And a girl in a caravan. But rather few bedroom scenes.

Interestig and weird movie. Most of it in green color. Andreas is convinced that his parents who are scientists are aliens.

Exciting film but somehow I don’t like it and wouldn’t buy it again. One handsome blond boy actor (wearing glasses).

Rating 2-3.

Country: Denmark, Sweden, UK, others
Who in bedroom: Jason 10, grown ups
Kind of beds: single bed, bunk bed
Available on DVD: yes

Rating: 2/10

Comment: Miles Purinton and others in this “bedroom”. Bunk bed with 3 bunks. Not sure if more than one bunk bed. Probably not. From my overalls blog (rating 4).

Probably the most unusual bedroom. No walls! Looks more like a stage play.

Scene is from chapter six. Directed by Lars von Trier. More infos on my other blog.

Although I like bunk beds, I don’t like this “bedroom” at all.

Die Trapp-Familie

Who in bedroom: 2 boys, 5 girls
Kind of beds: 1 bed *

I own: yes, DVD

Comment: Ruth Leuwerik and 5 girls in one bed, Michael Ande (on left) and Knut Mahlke also came to this room and sitting in front of the bed as they were afraid. I only noticed this short bedroom scene, so I don’t know how the boys bedroom looks like. Though interesting scene with many girls in one bed. I think this is the room of Ruth Leuwerik. So I also don’t know the girls’ room.

There is also a sequel “Die Trapp-Familie in Amerika” two years later with 13 and 15 yo boys which I own also, but haven’t checked yet. See also entry The Sound of Music” with same plot.

Also on my sailor suit and Lederhosen blog, rating 10.

For this bedroom rating 2 only.
